The Russian art and activism collective Pussy Riot became internationally famous in the early 2010s thanks to their daring performances in support of freedom and against the oppressive regimes of Vladimir Putin and the Russian Orthodox Church.

As a founding member, multidisciplinary artist Diana Burkot played a significant role in shaping Pussy Riot’s ethos and participated in their most impactful events, including the protest performance in a Moscow cathedral that led to the arrest and imprisonment of two group members.

More recently, she was part of the Riot Days world tour, advocating for feminism, LGBTQ rights, and an end to Russia’s war in Ukraine.

Diana’s energetic performance with Pussy Riot embodies her dedication to human rights, peace, and a fearless approach to art and activism.

NEW AGE DOOM

THERE IS NO END

Composed of the duo Eric J. Breitenbach and Greg Valou, along with an ever-expanding roster of Canadian and international musical talents, New Age Doom is a platform for experimentation and collaboration that defies genres, where many musical and aesthetic interests combine and contrast to create powerful sonic expressions. Thriving on spontaneity, ambiguity, and experimentation, New Age Doom offers a unique vision of extreme music where anything can happen.

The band is known for its eclectic and collaborative approach, working with various guest artists from different genres and countries, including Jamaican dub legend Lee ”Scratch” Perry, American jazz luminaries Tim Lefebvre, Donny McCaslin, and Daniel Rosenboom, as well as members of MONO, Team Sleep, Glassjaw, Death Grips, and Quicksand.

The band’s music fuses elements of drone metal and progressive rock with jazz, dub, and global music styles to create a unique and engaging sound, appreciated by critics and audiences alike.

The band’s latest album, ”There Is No End,” is a collaboration with Norwegian artist Tuva Hellum Marschhäuser (Tuvaband), which sees the band evolving towards a more melodic direction while maintaining their characteristic freewheeling chaos.

In 2021, New Age Doom garnered international attention and acclaim for their collaboration with Lee ”Scratch” Perry on an album that blended dub with jazz, drone metal, and prog to create a poignant swan song and tribute to the late dub legend, who passed away shortly before the album’s release.

New Age Doom is a band that challenges conventions and boundaries, creating thought-provoking and captivating music. They are more than a band; they are an artistic philosophy. They are also known for their collaborations with high-end food brands to create edible products, such as Habanero Supernova, a vegan cream cheese by Spread ’Em Kitchen, and Righteous Gin, a non-alcoholic infusion produced by Long Cap Liquor.
